In search of peace and quiet after many years of city life, the Archmage Muke created this tower as a way to bring the comfort of the city with him in his retirement.
Muke’s Instant Tower is a roughly three inch tall Bishop taken from a wooden chess set. When activated, the Bishop unfolds into a magnificent wizard’s tower over the course of a day.
Sentient Architecture. The tower is sentient and has an Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma score of 16. The tower has darkvision up to 120ft., understands common, and can communicate telepathically with anyone inside. The tower is fiercely protective of its inhabitants and is fanatical about their comfort and safety. The tower’s sentience gives it a will of its own and it will refuse certain commands should they go against its nature or it perceives them as dangerous to itself or its inhabitants.
Arcane Security. The tower has the following security features:
Once per day, the tower can create a magical barrier over a door or window. Nothing can physically pass through the barrier and it is immune to all damage and can only be destroyed or dispelled by a spell of the 6th level or higher. The barrier also extends into the Ethereal Plane, blocking ethereal travel through the barrier.
The tower wards a door or window. This ward lasts for 12 hours. While active, the tower is alerted whenever a tiny or larger creature crosses the ward. The tower can designate creatures that will not trigger the ward when it casts the spell.
Three times per day, the tower can create an arcane trap inside itself. The trap can be no larger than 10 feet in diameter and is nearly invisible. Any creature wishing to sense the trap must succeed on a DC14 Intelligence (Investigation) check. Any creature that steps on the trap must make a DC14 Dexterity saving throw taking 5d8 force damage on a failure or half as much on a success. After being triggered, the trap is destroyed.
Magically Convenient. Automated unseen servants tend to cleaning and basic chores. The tower can magically prepare food as long as its stores are frequently replenished and offers amenities like magical bathing facilities with adjustable water temperatures, illusory musicians, and temperature control.
Adaptive Spaces. Interior rooms can change their appearance and furnishings based on the desires of the inhabitants. Anything taken from the rooms transforms into its base materials if removed from the tower.
Portable Tower. As an action, the tower can be summoned or dismissed, transforming from the Bishop to the full tower and vice versa over the course of 24 hours.
Observatory. The top floor serves as an observatory with an enchanted telescope. Using the telescope allows you to cast the spell Scrying as a ritual once per day.
Mastering the Tower. In order to become master of the tower, you must resupply the tower with 50,000 gold pieces worth of food, wood, metal, and miscellaneous supplies.
